Seventeen years have I, Jaffar, been with the Grand Vizier of the Sultan of Persia. Now the time of my victory has come. Already I sit on his throne, and soon I shall have his daughter as well—the Princess, whose beauty is like the stars and the moon.
Naturally, I would never impose myself on this beautiful being. I will allow her an hour to come to her own conclusion. She will take me at her own free will, or lose her life.
And still she holds onto her dream of being rescued. The subject of her childish infatuation? A young adventurer–a nobody–now on my orders, a prisoner in my dungeons. Rescue will not be possible. He will never see his prison again. Even though he might manage to get out of his prison, he could never survive the wicked traps and guards who would never allow him to get to the Princess. But what if–through some series of miracles–he overcomes all these? Ah, then I would be obliged to use certain forces of my own. Enchantment? Black magic? These are but words. I am talking of mysteries. Riddles which no man (or woman) can solve.
