Actually, Pokemon ReDX retains the storyline of Pokemon Red, and for good reason, there are many new events and characters for added variety. Along with the usual Blue rivalry, you’ll have a second rival on the journey. So, if you play as a boy, your new rival is Jade, and if you play as a girl,l it’s Jasper. Blue is more of the cocky, competitive type who wants to beat you in battle; Jade/Jasper is more friendly and concentrates on filling in the Pokédex.
Professor Oak challenges you, Blue, Ue, and Jade/Jasper, to beta test his most incredible invention, the Pokédex. During the course of the game, you’ll be helping to defeat Team Rocket, which now includes the HGSS Admins in Kanto. Also, Looker has made it to the area, attempting to get to the bottom of Team Rocket’s motives. He will help you along the way if necessary. The stakes are even higher as you start the Gym Challenge, as Kanto’s Champion’s throne is unoccupied. The Pokémon League has challenged all trainers to compete for the throne and to be the next Champion!
